Making the most of this former concrete tilt-up, warehouse-like, corner building in Palo Alto with minimal windows and non-complying floor area required careful city negotiations and a full understanding of the zoning regulations to ensure that all the floor area was repurposed for office and retail use. With only a few walls remaining, new openings with sunshading devices were cut into the concrete panels, a new second floor was added and a new feature lobby created at the busy corner.
